At the Drive-In and the Mars Volta’s Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke (D-TX) officially announced his candidacy for the Texas Senate seat currently held by Duke basketball cosplayer Ted Cruz, O’Rourke is considered the first prominent Democrat to challenge for the seat, the AP reports.

 

 

 

Sufjan Stevens’ most recent album, Carrie & Lowell, turns two this week. If you missed your chance to see Stevens perform songs from that record on tour, or if you’d like to relive it, you’re in luck. On April 28, Asthmatic Kitty releases Carrie & Lowell Live, a concert film and audio recording documenting Stevens’ November 9, 2015 performance in North Charleston, South Carolina.

 

 

LCD Soundsystem tickets for their show in New York show which runs April 6-11, went on sale this past weekend, and sold out within minutes. A Twitter search for “LCD Soundsystem tickets” turns up lots and lots of fans who were upset at not being able to buy them, with some speculating that they’d been snapped up by bots employed by scalpers. On the secondary ticket market StubHub, there are dozens of scalped tickets listed for $260 each and upward at the time of this writing. Tickets to the shows were initially listed for $59.50.

 

BMG has officially added rock group A Perfect Circle to their roster, as the band inks a worldwide recording deal. It’s been 13 years since the supergroup released their last album, 2004’s eMOTIVe. Now the band—consisting of original members Billy Howerdel (of Ashes Divide) and Maynard James Keenan (Tool, Puscifer), as well as the more newly added James Iha (The Smashing Pumpkins), Jeff Friedl (Devo/The Beta Machine) and Matt McJunkins (Eagles of Death Metal/The Beta Machine)—is also currently working on a new LP.

 

If you thought the 2017 Glastonbury Festival was already stacked thanks to headliners Ed Sheeran, Radiohead and Foo Fighters, wait until you see who else they have lined up for this year. Also joining the bill are Lorde, The xx, Barry Gibb, Run the Jewels, Father John Misty, The Flaming Lips, Haim, Alt-J, Stormzy, Clean Bandit, Anderson .Paak, Glass Animals, George Ezra… the impressive list goes on, with even more to be announced in the near future. Glastonbury Festival will take place at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, England, from June 21-25. Tickets for this year’s event are sold out (and have been since October).
